How did we meet?

Daniel and Nayantara went on their first date on July 25th, 2019. They both went to McMaster University and had (very briefly) met before formally crossing paths in Toronto. Nayantara sent the first message and what started off as a catch up to get drinks quickly turned into a date!

First Date

Our first date was a stop at a bar on Bloor Street and then a long walk to get ice cream. We didn't know if it would work out as we both had busy work schedules - but our travels matched up perfectly! We bonded over the work we were doing, our sense of humour, and quickly became each other's best friends.

Through COVID

We had been together for  6 months before the lock down started. Over the next 2 years, life changed dramatically. Nayantara had just started her residency in a global pandemic and it was hard to spend time together in person. But we learned how to support each other through distance and find the laughter in hard times.

Getting Engaged

We got engaged in October 2023. Daniel reached out to Nayantara's friends 6 months in advance to plan a fake 'dinner' in Hamilton. Little did Nayantara know that 'dinner' was actually a post-engagement party! We went on a private tour at a winery right before where Daniel popped the question then went and celebrated with our friends.

Nayantara Ghosh

Nayantara is a Pediatrician in Toronto. She went to McMaster University for her undergraduate degree in Health Sciences and was accepted into Medical School at the University of Toronto where she chose to specialize in Pediatrics.

She has just completed 4 years of Residency at the Hospital for Sick Children and is now a full practicing doctor. Nayantara loves children and spends her time - when she's not at the hospital - reading, eating, and working out.

Daniel D'Souza

Daniel works at an AI company in Toronto as the Head of Growth. He oversees a team responsible for half of the companies revenue and global customer base. Daniel went to McMaster University for an undergraduate degree in Life Sciences & Biochemistry.

Rather than pursue the sciences he went into business and started his own company (Crescendo) after university. He grew the company to 7 figures in revenue before he sold his shares and joined the company he current works at. Daniel loves to cook, host, and plans pop-up events around Toronto with his friends.

FAQs

Common questions that you might have!

What should I wear?

Dress for a warm, outdoor summer wedding. The venue is a greenhouse so it may get quite hot.

What airport should I fly into?

Pearson airport (YYZ) is the biggest one in Toronto. You'll be able to get everywhere from there. If you're staying in the city then see if you can find a flight to Billy Bishop Airport (YTO)! Is right in the city centre.

Where should I stay?

The wedding will be in Newmarket - which is about an hour drive from Toronto. We would recommend staying in a hotel or Airbnb around the area. We'll be able to send out a specific hotel closer to the date!

Do I need to come to all the events?

No! The main event is on Saturday but the rest are optional. We'll be hosting the cocktail night downtown Toronto on the Thursday for all our friends and cousins to meet each other.

What's this about an after party?

It's a secret. 👀
